Installing SPEAK

Recently i had to prepare a Sitecore solution for the new ECM (Email Campaign Managment) module. In order to do so i read the instruction on SDN. First task: installing the SPEAK package...

SPEAK stands for Sitecore Process Enablement and Acceleration Kit and it is the new way of defining screenlayouts and enabeling processes within Sitecore.
The installation is done by importing just one package into your sitecore environment.

Sitecore Andes, have you heard..

Again, it can not be long until Sitecore 7 is released.
Rumours are that it will hit the market (SDN) in the last weeks of may. Exciting!

Maybe you know that the working title for Sitecore 7 was "Elbrus". Called after the famous mountain.
Recently i spoke to a contact at the Sitecore office, who told me about the upcomming features in Sitecore 7 Update-1. This version of Sitecore is called Sitecore Andes. Again, after a famous rock formation :)

Searching the internet does not (yet) return lots of results:

C# Code Generation with TDS 4.0 for Sitecore

This post is about generating code using TDS 4.0 and Sitecore based on T4 Scripts. Generating code is like a 'must have' on every project. It simplifies,.. well,.. a lot!
I have been spending quite some time on getting the code generation to work using Hedgehogs TDS4.0 and Sitecore. Only little information can be found online, so i thought to share my knowledge with you in order to get you up and running in little time.
At the bottom of this post you'll find some links i used in my search and where possible i'll try to use screenshots to illustrate my words, please click on them for larger versions.

Extending Sitecore Rocks Installation scripts

A while ago i was asked to setup a new Sitecore development instance for our team. So i went ahead and downloaded the latest Sitecore version and modules needed and installed it on the development environment.  To shorten installation time i decided to use Sitecore Rocks, part of my Visual Studio 2012, as the tool to manage the installation.

After setting the desired folders, licences, credentials and packages to use i hit the execute button. Within minutes my installation was successful and my Sitecore Website was up and running.
